Premier League Accumulator Betting Matchday 5: How well did I do on my fifth acca of the season?
My first win of the season!
After four Premier League matchdays, I finally picked an accumulator correctly! It felt good to get a win after just missing my accas in the opening four weeks of the campaign.
My apologies for not posting about Premier League matchday No. 4. I took a much-deserved holiday and tried to do absolutely zero writing at the time.
For matchdays No. 1 to No. 4, I staked a total of £4 (£1 per accumulator). My goal is to stake as little as possible to maximise my winnings. Well, on matchday No. 5, thanks to some late goals, I was able to do this.
My matchday No. 5 acca picks looked like this:
Fulham to defeat Luton
Brighton to defeat Man United
Tottenham to defeat Sheffield United
Newcastle and Brentford to both score
Aston Villa and Crystal Palace to both score
Liverpool to defeat Wolves
West Ham and Man City to both score
Seven selections were added to my acca, with a £1 stake. The return on the acca was £61.56. Bet365 (other bookmakers are available, and I get no money for name-dropping Bet365) added a £10.09 bonus to the bet.
Well, Fulham did the job and defeated Luton Town. Brighton went to Old Trafford and won as I predicted. This was a big win, as Brighton were underdogs to get the victory.
Liverpool were able to come from a goal down at halftime at Molineux to win 3-1. Villa and Palace both scored, as did West Ham and Man City.
Spurs looked likely to score up my bet. They went into second-half stoppage-time trailing Sheffield United 1-0. But thanks to the new stoppage-time rules, Spurs pulled out goals in the 95th and 100th minutes to win. Get in!
At this point, the 3:00 p.m. games were finished, leaving Newcastle and Brentford to play in the late game. I had picked six out of seven games correctly and Bet365 offered an early payout of £25.
Now, I could have let it ride in an attempt to win the full £61.56. But I was already up. I took the early payout of £25. I did the correct thing, as Newcastle defeated Brentford 1-0 — both teams did not score.
Looking at my season so far, I’ve staked a total of £5 (£1 per matchday) on Premier League accas. I have won £25 this season for a profit of £20. With all betting, there are highs and lows.
You can’t/don’t always win. Anyone who claims to win every week is a liar. Oftentimes when wagering on football, there are just lows, especially if you don’t know what you are doing.
Matchday No. 6 offers a new weekend of Premier League matches and a new acca. I’ve already placed my wager, and will share it with you may acca for matchday No. 6. Keep in mind, if you make the same or similar selections for any betting, I cannot be held responsible for the results.
Moreover, if you do wager on football, only wager what you cannot afford to lose. Betting on sports is not a get-rich-quick scheme or way to make instant money.
Here are my picks for matchday No. 5:
Man City to defeat Nott Forest
Brentford to defeat Everton
Luton and Wolves to both score
Crystal Palace and Fulham to both score
Man United to defeat Burnley and both teams to score goals
Arsenal and Tottenham to both score
Liverpool and West Ham to both score
The stake is £1 and the return is £61.88.
The selection that worries me is the Man United to defeat Burnley and both teams to score. This offers the highest odds for all the matches on the acca.
